Syed Farhad Ahmed, a reputed and acknowledged marketing expert and the driver of many successful business ventures in Bangladesh, leads one of the most successful local conglomerates in Bangladesh, aamra companies, as its Managing Director& CEO.
Farhad is a founder Director of aamra Companies (formerly known as Texas GroupBangladesh) and started his career immediately after university graduation in the Group’sGarments venture in 1985 (set up by his late father SSF Ahmed, a renowned Chartered Accountant of the country) as its Director of Operations.
Making money and expanding business were never the only driving thoughts in his mind. Rather he always aimed to contribute to the greater growth of the country and focused creating new job opportunities for its people. With this aspiration he concentrated on expanding business in new areas and in the country’s nascent ICT field to boost the overall growth and advancement of the country. Under his able leadership, combined with his charismatic personality and motivational capabilities, he tends to bring out the very best in all of aamra’stem members.
Taking the responsibility of overseeing the operations of the Group’s 17 companies dealing with ICT (Information & Communication Technology), Garments & Textile, Lifestyle and F&B sectors, as its Managing Director, he also directly oversees aamra sales and marketing initiatives.
Over the period of last 35 years, his leadership has established aamra as one of the leading B2B brands of the country. Ahmed has been in the forefront of Internet evolution in Bangladesh; his apt and dynamic leadership has made aamra the pioneer in internet/data connectivity, IPLC, MPLS, infrastructure solutions, cloud technology, payment technology, and digital solutions etc. As an avid advocate of latest global innovation, Forhad Ahmed has paved way for introduction of several cutting-edge technologies in Bangladesh, i.e. ATM machines, POS payment solution, CAD/CAM technology, SOC as a Solution etc.
Farhad Ahmed has been an active participant in numerous business and professional organizations including: France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bangladesh Garments Manufactures and Exporters Association, Bangladesh Computer Samity and Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh. Farhad Ahmed was also an Executive Committee Member & Vice Chairman, Marketing Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. He is a past president of France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry. For his contribution in the ICT sector of Bangladesh, renowned national newspaper ‘The Daily Star’ awarded him with the prestigious ‘ICT Person of the Year 2016’ award, in its inaugural edition. Additionally, he is also serving as the Honorary Consul of Estonia in Bangladesh, bridging diplomatic and technology exchange between Estonia and Bangladesh.
