Jashim Uddin (Josh) is a native of Bangladesh who came to USA in 1987 to pursue higher study. Mr. Uddin Graduated from Georgia State University. He has completed leadership program from Gwinnett Leadership Institute.
His carrier has included variety of endeavors. During his college Junior year, he owned four upscale Lounges in Atlanta’s most vibrant & affluent district. During 1996 Atlanta Olympic, His interviews were published in Sports Illustrated, DJ Times, Creative Loafing, Atlanta Journal & Constitution & Details Magazine. He owns many businesses in different Metro Atlanta locations. He is deeply involved with insurance & Financial industry. Besides that, he is also involved in retail development industry.
Community service has been a passion of Mr. Uddin’s life. Currently he is the President of Bangladeshi American Association of GA (BAAG) representing Bangladeshi American in Metro Atlanta. He was a Former Chairperson for FOBANA (Federation of Bangladeshi American Associations in North America, www.fobanaonline.com). Mr Uddin also served as an Executive Secretary of APAC (2006-2007) (Asian/Pacific American Council of Georgia).
Mr Uddin hosted three FOBANA conventions at the Cobb Galleria in 2006 & 2013 and at Georgia World Congress Center& CNN Center. He is involve with North Gwinnett Rotary club and elected as Club President (Elect) for 2020 Term. He is also involved with US mainstream politics. Helping the community has always been a priority for Mr. Uddin. That’s why he has been involved with so many charitable organizations.
Democrat Jashim Uddin of Georgia (GA) District 48 will be uncontested during the May GA Senate Primary for November Election 2022. His election promises will include improving state healthcare, state traffic system, minimum wages, and immigration policies.
Josh states, “I will join the Democrats at the Capitol in their fight for quality healthcare for all Georgians, for an end to gridlock in our community, and for a fully-funded and modern education system that benefits all of our children regardless of zip code.”
Josh served as the Chairperson of the Federation of Bangladeshi American Associations in North America and the Executive Secretary of APAC. He is involved with the North Gwinnett Rotary Club and the President of the Bangladeshi American Association of Georgia. Service has always been a part of him, and he views this opportunity to broaden his service arena further.
Mr. Uddin is married to his loving wife Farzana Uddin and they have 2 beautiful daughters Nusayba& Zahra. Mr. Uddin travelled over 52 Countries to explore people & their culture. His passion is to travel and make friends. He spends his leisure time playing Golf and Tennis.3
