This hardworking young man Jahidul Alam Joy was born on December 16, 1991 to a business oriented family in Dhaka. His father Jahangir Alam is a prominent entrepreneur and his mother Helena Jahangir, is a well-known woman entrepreneur who is also a social worker and public figure. Joy’s mother, Helena Jahangir, was the elected director of FBCCI. She has been running various organizations related to the welfare of women entrepreneurs that empowers women to be independent.
Jahidul Alam, an enlightened young man of our time. He is the General Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Joyjatra Foundation and the Proprietor of Hermes Trading. His family’s business background has trained him to be an innovative entrepreneur from the early age of 18. As a result, he has no difficulty in navigating this huge business empire. In addition to all these designations, this young man is involved in various trade organizations. He is associated with BKMA, BGMEA, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and INdustry. He is an active member of Gulshan Club Limited, Dhaka.
Jahidul Alam Joy was very talented as a student. He devoted himself to the family business after receiving a degree in (EEE) Electrical and Electronic Engineering. After graduating, he started his own family with his wife, Anika Alam.
He followed the wise word of Jeff Bezos, “You don’t choose your passions, your passions choose you,” and shifted into Business from EEE because business run in his blood. The young business-man thinks a lot about the development of the country. He thinks that Bangladesh is a country with immense potential. The independence of this country was achieved at the cost of innumerable lives through a valiant struggle. The main objective of the war of liberation was to transform this country into an independent and prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’. Today, we are able to achieve self-sufficiency in food. This development has been made possible through necessary policies and steps taken by the present government as well as the efforts and sincerity of the agricultural workers of the country.
This rising entrepreneur thinks that there is now a favorable opportunity for investments in the country. Initiatives have been taken to establish several economic zones in the country. He thinks that this will increase the foreign and domestic investments.
As a young entrepreneur, Jahidul Alam Joy, feels the youth of this proud nation should focus more into being self-employed rather than waste their unique talents in search of a monotonous job after they graduate. He says, the country’s industrial sector has revolutionized the industry through the initiatives taken by the private sector entrepreneurs. He hopes that Bangladesh will soon become a middle-income country if this trend continues.
