The presidential election of this year is the most important matter in the American history. The future of America largely depends on this election. If the Democratic candidate Joe Biden is elected, unity, integrity, equal rights, a non-discriminatory social system, immigration-friendly policies, easy accessible health insurance and the economic emancipation of the common people will be established. On the other hand, if the incumbent President Trump is re-elected, the country will be divided. The whole country will face with dishonesty, fraud, unequal rights, racism, anti-immigration policy, unaffordable health insurance and the economic suffering of the common people and favoring the rich.
The list of Trump’s failures as president is very long. All the activities and policies of Trump are based on falsehood. He has made more than 50 false or misleading claims a day. He told 22,248 lies in 1,318 days. He has told so many lies in the current election campaign that fact-checkers are struggling to count his lies.
The humongous failure of Trump as president is the controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. Since January, his advisers have warned about the terrible outbreak of Covid-19 by which millions of people will die and economic system will collapse. There is no vaccine or effective treatment for this deadly virus, so his health advisers recommend wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, avoiding public gatherings, and frequent hand washing with soap for controlling the virus.
But despite knowing about the outcome of deadly Covid-19, Trump began to say that the virus is a hoax, it will go away in a week, there is no need to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. When he was doing this misleading propaganda for three months from January to March, the virus was spreading across the country without any hindrance. When the Covid-19 took pandemic shape in April, there was not enough personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors, nurses and health workers. Thousands of people began to die of this deadly coronavirus.
To date, 231,000 people have died, 9 million have been infected and the country’s economy has collapsed because of Trump’s irresponsible response to the virus. Millions of people have lost their jobs; millions of businesses, schools and colleges have been closed. President Trump is solely responsible for this situation.
In the month of January, Covid-19 was identified in South Korea and the United States on the same day. South Korea brought the coronavirus pandemic under control by advising people to wear masks, maintaining social distance etc. At that time, Trump denies the reality of the pandemic and speaks out against wearing masks and maintaining social distance. Calling it a Democratic versus Republican issue, he continues to organize campaign rallies attended by thousands of his supporters without wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.
His health advisers are calling his rallies ‘super spreaders’. Because of his irresponsible response, the number of deaths per million in the United States is about 700, while in South Korea it is only 8. If Trump continues to campaign against wearing masks and maintaining social distance by denying the fact in this way, experts say another 200,000 people will die by January 1, 2021. On the other hand, Biden would take precautionary measures like South Korea to control the virus and save lives. According to the experts, if Trump would listen to his health advisors and take appropriate measures in January-February, then 100,000 people could be saved. President Trump cannot avoid his negligence over this issue.
President Trump looks down on all immigrants and the African American community. Indeed, Trump is a racist. He used to insult people who are against him and threaten them to harm. He does not respect anyone. He called the American soldiers killed in the war ‘Suckers and Losers’. The President of the United States of America will be a person who bears a good moral character, honesty, generosity, respect for human beings and an exemplary person who is always dedicated to the welfare of the people. Unfortunately, President Trump has none of these qualities. His sister, Marianne Trump, a retired judge, niece Mary Trump, a psychiatrist, four Republican governors, two former chairmen of RNC, hundreds of top Republican leaders, bureaucrats and others oppose President Trump, and say Trump is no fit for the post of the president of America.
For the last four years, the Trump administration has taken various measures against the immigrant communities. The hidden meaning of President Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again” is that immigrants have no place there. If President Trump is re-elected, immigrants will have to face more obstacles. So, the immigrant community must vote in this election for the Democratic candidate, for the sake of their own interests, the interests of their children and the future of the new generation, for the greater good, not for the small good.
