Dato’ K. M. Rifatuzzaman is the Managing Director of the business conglomerate Akhtar Group and Chittagong Challengers. He was granted the Malay federal title of Datuk (or its variant Dato‘ or Datu) in April 2005 by the Malaysian Government; awarded by KDYMM Sultan Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’ in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah
Dato’ K. M. Rifatuzzaman, born December 30, 1986, is a prosperous Bangladeshi businessman. He studied BSBM (Bachelor of Science in Business Management, University of Phoenix BC, Canada). He is the son of K.M. Akhtaruzzaman, Bangladeshi industrialist and philanthropist. Rising up to his calibre, he took over his father K. M. Akhtaruzzaman’s business at an early age.
As a leader, K. M. Rifatuzzaman is a force to be reckoned with, in the furnishing business. He is the Managing Director of Akhtar Group, Akhtar Furnishers, Akhtar Board of Industries Ltd., Delta Furnishers Ltd., Akhtar Mattress Industries Ltd., Akhtar Door Industries Ltd., Akhtar Polymer Industries Ltd. Besides the furnishing industry, he is also the Editor of Showcase Magazine. Extending his brilliance, he happens to be the Director of Bangla TV Ltd., Akhtar Foam Industries Ltd., Sanafir Fashions Ltd., Akhtar Furniture Academy, Akhtar Foundation, Thai Bangla Tools Ltd. (Thailand-Bangladesh Joint Venture Industry)., and Jat Holdings Bangladesh (Pvt.) Ltd. (A Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Joint Venture Company).
K. M. Rifatuzzaman has several social associations, namely, he is a member of Baridhara Cosmopolitan Club, Gulshan Recreation Club, Asia Club, Elite Club, Army Golf Club, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI), Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI), France Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIFB); Associate Member of Uttara Club; and Secretary General of Bangladesh Mattress Manufacturer & Exporter’s Association.
