Max Group (Power)
Being an Electrical Engineer from Houston, Texas, Engr. Azadul Haq doesn’t really wear only one hat. Anyone who knows him will find him as highly energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated with versatile competencies and an individual with a very positive attitude.
Engr. Azadul Haq was born in Bangladesh, passed SSC from the prestigious Government Laboratory High School at Dhaka, and passed HSC from the renowned Dhaka College. Then he went to study Applied Physics and Electronics at the Dhaka University. He went to the USA in 1982 to study and completed his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Engr. Azadul Haq is currently the CEO of Max Group (Power). He looks after the Power portfolio of Max group as well as the civil construction of multiple projects in the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant including the two turbine halls. Max group is building the iconic training center, successfully completed the permanent shore protection work and built two electrical island buildings. He is also overseeing the two power plants owned and operated by Max Group.
Before joining Max Group in Bangladesh Haq worked for 19 years at the 3rd largest energy company in the USA, Kinder Morgan that has an enterprise value of over 130 billion dollars. He led a team of professionals who develop and maintain software that runs product pipelines such as gasoline, crude oil, kerosene, and jet fuel carrying approx. 2.1 million barrels per day through a maze of 9000 miles of pipelines.
Before joining Kinder Morgan, Haq worked at NASA (Johnson Space Center, Houston) as the NT Administrator and developed widgets for the International Space Station. He became the President of Computer Expo after his graduation and traveled to Bangladesh in 1992 temporarily to build the IT infrastructure of the first private university of Bangladesh – North South University (NSU). Haq is involved in a multitude of other activities. He was the Convener of the Convention of NRB Engineers or CONE that was held in February2019 at the Hotel Sonargaon and inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Haq is the Chairman of Bridge 2 Bangladesh, the US-Bangladesh joint venture Green Micro Ltd., President of The Azad Foundation, Inc., one of the sponsor shareholders of NRBC Bank in Bangladesh, and past Chairman of FOBANA (Federation Of Bangladeshi Associations in North America), the largest national organization for the Bangladeshi organizations in North America. He had introduced non-linear editing, large scale digital printing, signs using vinyl cutting in Bangladesh and pioneered 3-D animation.
Engr. Azadul Haq is happily married since 1993. He is blessed with two handsome sons. His elder son is an Honors Electrical and Computer Engineer from University of Texas at Austin and currently working in Amazon at their headquarters in Seattle, Washington. His younger son is a studying in University of Houston. His wife, a masters in chemistry, is the soul of the family and provides guidance on the family values.
Engr. Azadul Haq has published his first book in 2018 and second one in 2021.He is writing his third book now. His passions and hobbies include writing, photography, cinematography, travel, and reading books.

By 2041, Bangladesh will be a high income country through innovation, industrialization and incorporation of human skills in every sector. NRBs can contribute in all these areas significantly”said Engr. Azadul Haq enthusiastically.
